As the fourth book into the Game of Thrones fantasy realm this is where things start to dip a fraction, as overly long and sprawling at another 1000+ pages.
But that's the problem: every book adds another piece to the puzzle and a smidgen more understanding about Westeros and its feuding factions.
It's an incredible work of literary art and you've got this far for already having invested in the first three incredible volumes.
Think about The Stand by Stephen King, or Swan Song by Robert McCammon, each a sprawling 1000 pages as complete volumes in their own right, and yet here we are, just another doorstep in the saga and yet equally brilliant, compelling and essential.
Please read the first three volumes and get to this point if you can.
