The Fault in Our Stars

This is a highly rewarding, enjoyable and often life-affirming book worth a chunk of everybody's time.

The main characters are likeable and the dialogue is quite brilliant at times.

What could have become a cloying pity party was anything but, with only scant and minor implausibilities.

However, although often compelling, it's nice rather than racy, well behaved instead of despicable, and as a lover of gritty and harsher entertainment, wasn't quite right for me.

A romance novel with a cancer twist.

I've hardened over the years and the emotional element wasn't enough, although I gush at the end of Ronald Malfi books!

Anyone who's suffered personal loss (all of us) or knows anything about the horrors of cancer will connect with this novel because of how earnest, honest and accessible it is.

Let's leave it at that - definitely worth your time and investment. Okay?
