I read this when I was a little kid, in a boyish universe, a long time ago, in a galaxy called childhood a long long way away.
It was absolutely amazing at how it enchanted, delighted and scared me during a wondrous time when everything seemed more alive and full of potential, in the eyes of a child with everything to live for and look forward to.
In retrospect, this is classified as a comedy and I can see that now... but at the time it was hairy stuff.
A massive recommend if you've got kids, grandkids or are just a big child at heart.
