I read the Tell-Tale Heart in a flash and really enjoyed it.

Initially it seems like a story of love and betrayal and it is in a way, but more accurately a tale of crime and trying to get away with it.

This beauty is the very first story in the Amazon Classics version: The Tell-Tale Heart and Other Stories, which is 100% free on Kindle. It contains all the classics, such as The Fall of the House of Usher, The Raven, The Cask of Amontillado, and even The Pit and the Pendulum and its intriguingly titillating notion of torture porn.

EAP is a master at telling creepy stories with an impending sense of hopelessness and doom.
